The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream advisory for Jefferson and Orleans Parish through 9pm.

A band of heavy rainfall could produce an additional 1-2" of rain in the next hour causing flooding in poor drainage areas including the cities of Timberlane... Metairie... Marrero... Harvey... Avondale... New Orleans and New Orleans East.

A flash flood watch is also in effect for these areas.
