Below freezing temperatures overnight are expected across the northshore and river parishes. A freeze warning has been issued for Upper Terrebonne, Upper Lafourche, St. James, Assumption and St. John the Baptist Parishes. It's advised to protect tender vegetation and bring the pets inside for the next couple of nights. High pressure building across the Great Plains will eject more cold air into our region, creating temperatures in the low 20s on the northshore Tuesday and possibly Wednesday morning. A hard freeze is expected Tuesday and Wednesday morning in those locations. North of the lake, people may want to take precautions to protect pets, plants, people and pipes Tuesday. Wind chills tonight on the northshore expected to be in the 20s. |
