Another set of storms headed our way will move in Saturday night, creating a 50% chance of rain starting at about 8pm Saturday, increasing through the overnight hours. There is a 90% chance of rain all day Sunday with scattered thunderstorms and heavy downpours possible. With saturated soils, more street flooding is possible. On the heels of this system, another frontal system will approach Monday. This will keep cold and windy conditions Monday (Christmas Day), as well as create the possibility of some wintry weather on the northshore Tuesday morning. A few snowflakes or sleet is possibly in the northern parishes of SE Louisiana Tuesday morning. However, the moisture will be lacking for any widespread precipitation. |
