Tornado Watch

A line of strong thunderstorms is moving toward the East toward Southern Mississppi and central and lower Plaquemines parish. These storms are producing locally heavy rainfall and dangerous lightning.

Light to moderate rainfall will continue to fall across the metro area for the next hour to two hours. Expect mostly cloudy skies this afternoon, windy and cool conditions this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will fall from the 70s to the 60s and lower 50s by later this evening.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Southern Mississippi. A flood warning is in effect for Tangipahoa parish. A tornado watch continues for parishes south of the lake in SE Louisiana until 9pm tonight.
