Upper Level High Pressure

A large upper level high pressure system is the reason we are so hot and dry. It isn't unusual to be dry this time of year. October is our driest month with roughly 3" as an average for the month. This large upper level high is causing the warmer than normal temperatures and keeping the cool air to our west and east. Hot, Hazy, and Humid conditions will continue this week. Some record highs are possible.

A weak cool front will allow drier air over the weekend, but not much cooler. This large upper high is also protecting us from any late season tropical activity from moving in our direction if something were to develop.
