The center (or what remains of the center) of Ernesto is over Cuba, in an area that is very mountainous and not very friendly to tropical cyclones. The storm has weakened down to 40 mph, making it a weak tropical storm. It could even weaken back into a depression before making it back over open water. Here are the 1pm coordinates: 20.7N, 76.1W A new track will be posted at 4pm, along with new coordinates. Models still show that Ernesto will be an east coast storm. |
