My first Father's Day started off perfect. A picture on my phone from my wife of my little girl chewing on my Father's Day gift. The caption: "Hurry home before she eats all of your gifts!"

In the media workroom here at Rosenblatt Stadium, Paul Mainieri showed up early this morning. We wished each other a Happy Father's Day. Being the father of two daughters himself, I thought the head coach would enjoy the picture of my daughter eating my present. I proudly showed it to him and relayed my wife's plea (who happens to a huge LSU fan). If I was going to miss my 1st Father's Day because of the College World Series, the Tigers better win it all. Mainieri smiled and said simply, "Tell her I'll do my best."
