(NEW ORLEANS)---A federal grand jury in New Orleans has indicted a Hammond man on a charge of distributing five grams or more of crack cocaine, according to U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

Letten says that 25-year-old Larry Anderson, Jr., if convicted, faces a possible maximum of 40 in prison, a fine of up to $2 million, and four years of supervised release following his prison term.

(NEW ORLEANS)---A New Orleans federal judge has sentenced a Hammond man to prison for allegedly submitting false tax claims to the IRS, according to U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

Letten says that 58-year-old Alvin Gautreaux, Jr., has been sentenced to 15 months in prison, three years of supervised release upon leaving prison, and pay the IRS $73,565.

(NEW ORLEANS)---A federal grand jury in New Orleans has indicted a Hammond man on two charges of distributing 50 grams or more of crack cocaine, according to U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

Denham Springs man dies in two-vehicle accident in Tangipahoa Parish

(PONCHATOULA)---Louisiana State Police report that a Denham Springs man has died as a result of injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle accident along I-55 near Ponchatoula in Tangipahoa Parish.

State Police TFC Louis Calato says that 33-year-old Joseph Delatte was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He adds that the driver of the second vehicle, 44-year-old Frank Deffes III of Harahan was not injured in the accident.

(SLIDELL)---For the fourth time this year and sixth time in two years, Slidell Police report that they have arrested a Slidell man, this time in connection with a couple of cases where guns, electronics, and medication were stolen.
