(ROSELAND)---A Roseland man has been arrested and charged in connection with a case where he led deputies on a foot pursuit through a residential area, only to be arrested while allegedly in possession of marijuana and crack cocaine, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that 34-year-old Myron Dokes has been charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and crack cocaine, three counts of resisting an officer by flight on foot, having no tail lights, and on four outstanding failure-to-appear warrants. It happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2, during a traffic stop along Faith Street in Roseland. The sheriff says that as a deputy made contact with Dokes, Dokes fled on foot into and out of an apartment complex, into a thick bushy area, and up to a barbed-wire fence. Deputies were able to apprehend Dokes, and the sheriff says they recovered some two clear, plastic bags of marijuana. Back at his vehicle, Sheriff Edwards says deputies recovered seven more bags of marijuana, two bags with crack cocaine, and some $816 in U. S. currency. |
