(KENTWOOD)---Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested an Amite man after he allegedly got into an argument with his brother-in-law and fired several shots at him, striking the victim's truck tire. Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that 27-year-old Bob Gray, Jr., has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property, and criminal trespassing. The original incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 15, at a residence on Harts Lane in Kentwood. The sheriff says that the victim told deputies that his brother-in-law, later identified as Gray, Jr., arrived apparently intoxicated and began an argument. The victim maintains that Gray, Jr., threatened to kill him as Gray, Jr., was told to leave the area. A short while later, shortly after 1:15 a.m., deputies returned to the location upon learning that shots had been fired. Sheriff Edwards says that the victim said that Gray, Jr., drove up at a high rate of speed, exited his truck with a handgun, and fired two shots at the victim, with one apparently striking the tire of the victim's truck. The victim said that Gray, Jr., then sped off in his vehicle. The sheriff says that shortly before 1:35 a.m., deputies found the vehicle matching the description of Gray, Jr.'s, along Steptoe Road in Roseland. Gray, Jr., was then located by deputies and taken into custody. |
