AMITE ......................... District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following Joshua Henderson, Hammond, LA, age 22 - Pleaded guilty to distribution of Schedule I narcotics and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. Defendant to serve six (6) months and balance of jail sentence to be suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000.00 plus court costs. Kelly Weary, Ponchatoula, LA, age 42 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (3rd offense) and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in the Department of Corrections. The following individuals appeared and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found Jessie Berry, Ponchatoula, LA, age 43 - Pleaded guilty to possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphanelia, attempted simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, domestic abuse battery, simple assault, unauthorized use of an access card, felony theft (9 counts), possession of Schedule II narcotics, aggravated flight from an officer, illegal possession of stolen things, and simple burglary (17 counts) and was sentenced to serve eight (8) years in the Department of Corrections on each of the offenses of felony theft, illegal possession of stolen things, and simple burglary; five (5) years in the Department of Corrections on each of the offenses of possession of Schedule II narcotics; two (2) years in the Department of Corrections on the offenses of aggravated flight from an officer and unauthorized use of an access card; and six (6) months in parish jail on the offenses of possession of drug paraphanelia, domestic abuse battery, and simple assault with sentences to be served concurrently. Larry Matthews, Ponchatoula, LA, age 25 - Pleaded guilty to attempted production/ manufacturing of Schedule II narcotics, possession of Schedule II narcotics (2 counts), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphanelia and theft and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections on the offenses of attempted production/ Brian Wells, Kentwood, LA, age 20 - Pleaded guilty to possession of Schedule II narcotics (2 counts). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to enroll in and complete drug court program.
Daryl Austin, Humble, TX, age 42 - Pleaded no contest to cyberstalking and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs. Ashford Hollins, Covington, LA, age 25 - Pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was sentenced to serve seven (7) years without benefits in the Department of Corrections. Lonnie Jacob, Hammond, LA, age 40 - Pleaded guilty to aggravated flight from an officer and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs. Shawn Latta, Ponchatoula, LA, age 23 - Pleaded guilty to cyberstalking and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for one year.
