21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux releases latest court reports

AMITE ......................... District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following
individuals appeared in court on March 11, 2009, before Judge Elizabeth Wolfe and either pleaded guilty or no contest or was found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:

Harold Richards, Tickfaw, LA, age 49 - Convicted of DWI and theft was present in court for sentencing and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail on the offense of DWI and two (2) years in parish jail on the offense of theft with sentences to be served concurrently.

The following individuals appeared and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found
guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:

Hakeem Dokes, Hammond, LA, age 19 - Pleaded no contest to simple robbery and domestic abuse battery and was sentenced to serve four (4) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of simple robbery and was sentenced to serve ten (10) days in parish jail on the offense of domestic abuse battery with credit given for time served. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on active probation for four years and ordered to pay court costs and make restitution.

DeVaugh Edwards, Hammond, LA, age 29 - Pleaded guilty to simple criminal trespassing and was sentenced to serve ten (10) days in parish jail.

Randy Egnew, Holden, LA, age 24 - Pleaded on contest to cyberstalking and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000.00 plus court costs.

Sammy Fair, Hammond, LA, age 47 - Pleaded guilty to simple battery, simple criminal trespassing and improper lane usage and was sentenced to serve ten (10) days in parish jail on the offense of simple battery; two (2) days in parish jail on the offense of simple criminal damage to property; and one (1) day in parish jail on the offense of improper lane usage.

Geoffrey Grice, Baton Rouge, LA, age 30 - Pleaded no contest to cyberstalking and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000.00 plus court costs.

Jimmie Jewett, Ponchatoula, LA, age 30 - Pleaded no contest to simple burglary and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in parish jail.

Marc Raburn, Walker, LA, age 34 - Pleaded no contest to cyberstalking and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000.00 plus court costs.

Johnny Rogers, Poplarville, MS, age 46 - Pleaded no contest to cyberstalking and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs.

John Watkins, Tickfaw, LA, age 28 - Pleaded no contest to unauthorized use of an access card and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to make restitution.

Ashley White, Amite, LA, age 24 - Pleaded guilty to issuing worthless checks (2 counts) and was sentenced to serve four (4) days in parish jail on each count with sentences to be served consecutively.
