(NEW ORLEANS)---A Tangipahoa Parish man has been sentenced in connection with a federal drug case involving some 27 grams of crack cocaine, according to U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. Letten reports that 33-year-old Darrell Robinson of Roseland was sentenced on Wednesday, August 20, to 27 months imprisonment on a charge of possession with the intent to distribute at least five grams of crack cocaine. According to court documents, a confidential source told agents that Robinson was in possession of crack cocaine. Robinson was eventually arrested, as he was wanted by state probation and parole officers. Agents learned Robinson had another vehicle, listed in his wife's name, at his Ponchatoula residence. During a search of the vehicle, Letten says agents recovered some 192 individual pieces of crack cocaine, with a total weight of nearly 27 grams. Letten adds that Robinson indicated to agents that the crack cocaine belonged to him. This week's sentencing came after Robinson entered a guilty plea back on Friday, May 16. |
