(WALKER)--- The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office has recovered a stolen truck that contained weapons and electronics gear used by their Special Response Team. Livingston Sheriff's Office Dep. Perry Rushing reports that the truck was stolen from an area near Walker in the overnight hours of Thursday, July 31. He adds that the truck contained a shotgun, a semi-automatic rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, body-armor, a laptop computer, and a digital camera. Northshore law enforcement agencies were notified in the early-morning hours of Friday, August 1, and the search began in an effort to locate the stolen vehicle. Dep. Rushing says that the truck was recovered by LPSO deputies sometime in the late-morning hours of Friday, August 1. There is no word yet on whether the specialized gear inside the truck was recovered, as well. Dep. Rushing says that the investigation is continuing and that more information will be forthcoming about the recovery, the location, and the latest in the theft investigation. |
