(PEARL RIVER)---One woman is dead and two others are severely injured after an early-morning head-on accident on LA 41 near Pearl River, according to Louisiana State Police Troop L. TFC Louis Calato reports that 41-year-old Loretta Crawford of Pearl River was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Tammany Parish Deputy Coroner Angel Galloway. He adds that 45-year-old Krislee Dier and 18-year-old Jared Dier, both of Franklinton, were taken to St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington suffering from severe injuries. The accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, near the intersection of LA 41 and LA 36 near Pearl River. TFC Calato says that for an unknown reason, the vehicle driven by Crawford apparently crossed the center line into the path of the vehicle driven by Krislee Dier. According to TFC Calato, Dier apparently tried to take evasive action, but the vehicles still hit head-on. TFC Calato says that it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident and that it remains under investigation. |
