| Tangipahoa Parish declares state of emergency in anticipation of Gustav »
(NORTHSHORE)---With the potential of a strengthening Gustav approaching some part of the Louisiana coastline by Monday, September 1, the Louisiana State Police have released some reminders for citizens to prepare now in case evacuations are called later. Troopers recommend the following steps to help you and your family be better prepared in case the storm approaches: • Fill vehicle tanks prior to any departure. The State Police encourage the public to call the Louisiana State Police Hotline at 1.800.469.4828 for traffic or evacuation information, if one is called. Citizens call also dial 511 to receive information on travel advisories or road closures. |
