(ABITA SPRINGS)---The Eyewitness News Northshore Bureau has learned that firefighters from the Abita Springs area are fighting a blaze involving what appears to be an abandoned trailer. The fire began at around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, in the 25300 block of Pilot Road, near 5th Avenue, just outside of Abita Springs. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported that the building was "fully involved." Later two-way radio transmissions indicated that the trailer was apparently abandoned, empty, and that utility service had already been cut. Details are sketchy at this hour, but more information will be passed along as it becomes available. |
