(WALKER)---For the second time in two months, narcotics agents have shut down an alleged methamphetamine lab near the town of Walker, this time arresting four suspects as well, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office. Livingston Parish Sheriff Willie Graves said that the search warrant was served at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at an address along Weiss Road in Walker. The sheriff added that agents found a similar meth lab at that location back in April of this year. Sheriff Graves said that this time around, LPSO and Tri-Parish Narcotics Task Force agents also recovered not only alleged various supplies and chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine, but also 10 marijuana plants on the property and a small amount of processed marijuana. Sheriff Graves said that 49-year-old Gerald Brett Rushing, Sr., of Walker was charged with two counts of operation/creation of a methamphetamine lab, cultivation of marijuana, improper lane usage, and no driver's license on person; 45-year-old Cynthia Rushing and 33-year-old Mitchell L. Broxson, both of Walker, were charged with operation/creation of a methamphetamine lab and possession of 12 grams or more of Ephedrine; and 46-year-old Gregory T. Jones of Rosedale was charged with operation/creation of a methamphetamine lab, possession of marijuana, and possession of 12 grams or more of Ephedrine. |
