Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries officials report that a Robert man died as a result of injuries he received in a two-boat accident in Tangipahoa Parish.
It happened shortly after midnight on Saturday, May 10, on the Tangipahoa River near Bedico Creek. Wildlife and Fisheries officials report that the victim, 22-year-old Kyan Prevost of Robert, was apparently driving a flat boat when it collided with a bass boat carrying four others.
Officials indicate that two passengers on the bass boat received minor injuries, while Prevost could not be located in the water. A search of the river ended Saturday morning around 8 a.m. when the body of Prevost was recovered.
Wildlife and Fisheries investigators indicate that no charges have been filed as of yet, but the investigation is continuing as toxicology reports are forthcoming.
