(LORANGER)---For the second time this month, Tangipahoa Parish deputies say they have arrested suspects allegedly involved in the manufacture of methamphetamine, this time in the Loranger area.
Tangipahoa Parish Chief Deputy Dennis Pevey says that 28-year-old Jacob Puls of Loranger has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, and operation, creation, possession of a clandestine methamphetamine lab. A second suspect, 29-year-old Jason Brent Puls of Loranger, has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and operation, creation, possession of a clandestine methamphetamine lab.
The chief deputy adds that two other suspects, 35-year-old Rosie Tate and 30-year-old Elisa Lee Reid, both of Loranger, were charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Chief Deputy Pevey says that both Jacob and Jason Puls were awaiting a June 16 court date to begin serving an eight-year sentence on an earlier conviction on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine. The chief adds that agents with the TPSO and the Tri-Parish Narcotics group learned that the pair allegedly bought materials necessary to manufacture methamphetamine.
On Tuesday, May 27, agents took the four suspects into custody and located a five-gallon bottle of anhydrous ammonia allegedly hidden in a junk pile. Chief Deputy Pevey says this is the fifth time since 2007 that Jacob and Jason Puls have been arrested on manufacturing methamphetamine charges.
