(PARISHWIDE)---Temporary signs and banners placed along St. Tammany Parish roadways will be the target of code enforcement officers beginning Monday, June 2, according to St. Tammany Parish President Kevin Davis. Davis says that the so-called "sign sweep" will be a part of the overall effort to reduce litter, thereby helping to maintain the beauty of St. Tammany. He says the first area for the code enforcement officers to inspect will be the LA 21 corridor, basically between Madisonville and Mandeville. Officials say that the inspection sweep will continue throughout the summer and move into other portions of the parish. They add that officers will be looking for those signs that don't match sign requirements or the owners who don't have the proper permits. Davis says that owners will have the opportunity to obtain the permits before being cited by the parish. |
