(SLIDELL)---Slidell Police are searching for a male suspect who robbed a pharmacist and pharmacy employee at gunpoint, escaping with money and narcotics.
Slidell Police Capt. Kevin Foltz says that it happened shortly after 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, in the 100 block of Gause Blvd. Foltz reports that the suspect entered the pharmacy and asked a clerk questions about medicines.
After requesting to speak with the pharmacist, Foltz says the pharmacist walked up, the suspect pulled a black, semi-automatic handgun, and demanded money and drugs. Foltz adds that when the pharmacist complied, with an undetermined amount of cash and narcotics, the suspect exited the rear door and fled into a wooded area behind the store. The resulting search of the area could not turn up the suspect.
Foltz says that the suspect is a white male, in his mid- to late-twenties, weighing approximately 140 pounds with fair skin and a scruffy-type beard. He was last seen wearing a black tee-shirt, blue jeans, and dark baseball cap. If anyone knows anything about the suspect or his whereabouts, he or she should call Slidell Police at 985.643.3131.
