A Slidell man is wanted on attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot his girlfriend's father a short time after the pair got into an argument.
A warrant on an attempted murder charge has been filed against the suspect, 25-year-old Trevon J. Miller of 60045 Javery Road in Slidell.
It happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, near the intersection of Daney Street and Eighth Street in Slidell. Police indicate that they answered an earlier call where the victim told officers that he had a problem with his daughter's boyfriend, later identified as Miller, but that the problem had been solved.
A short while later, the victim told officers that his daughter allegedly exited Miller's vehicle and called for him. The initial investigation indicated that as the victim approached the vehicle, Miller allegedly exited the car and charged the victim carrying an object hidden by a towel. The victim told officers that he then heard a shot and saw a small handgun under the towel.
The victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released by a local hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Miller is described as being 5'7" tall, approximately 155 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and gold-capped teeth.
Slidell Police are asking those who know anything about Miller's whereabouts to call Slidell Det. Keith Bowman at 985.201.1972 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111 or 1.800.903.7867.
