A southeast Louisiana man, wanted in Slidell on a burglary charge and in other south Louisiana areas on similar charges, has been arrested in Orlando, Florida by the U. S. Marshals Service
30-year-old Nicholas Banta was arrested on Thursday, May 8, while lounging around a swimming pool in Orlando. Federal officials indicate that Banta was wanted in Slidell on burglary charges filed earlier this month. Banta is also wanted in St. Charles Parish on five counts of burglary, in Jefferson Parish on 20 counts of burglary and failure to appear in court, and the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole on violating probation on receiving stolen property charges.
The Slidell Police Department will hold a news conference later this afternoon on the arrest of Banta and others allegedly involved in the case.
