The development of a new, 25,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in St. Tammany Parish could bring more new jobs to the area over the next few years, according to the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation.
Bevolo Gas and Electric Lights, originally founded in New Orleans in 1945, manufactures hand-made copper gas and electric lights worldwide and currently employs 20 workers at a production facility near Covington. The company also owns a retail-outlet in Mandeville.
In an effort to expand its northshore operations, business leaders indicate that company officials project that the new facility, to be built in the Alamosa Business Park, will bring the area at least 100 news jobs over the next five years.
