(LIVINGSTON)---For the second time in a week, the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office has uncovered a clandestine methamphetamine lab and arrested two suspects from the town of Livingston.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Willie Graves says that 43-year-old Clay Ziegler of 28349 Albert Ziegler Road has been charged with two counts of manufacturing methamphetamine, resisting arrest by flight, possession of drug paraphernalia, and off-road vehicle prohibited. Sheriff Graves also says that 41-year-old Jessie B. Wheat of 21348 Albert Ziegler Road was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff says it happened shortly after 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, along Red Oak Road near Livingston. Sheriff Graves says that deputies and Tri-Parish Narcotics agents observed Ziegler and Wheat riding on a three-wheeler. Upon trying to effect a traffic stop, Sheriff Graves says Wheat allegedly threw away a plastic pitcher containing what was later determined to be "meth oil".
The sheriff says that the pair was eventually stopped and the "meth oil" recovered. A further investigation led agents to the meth lab in a nearby wooded area.
