(BOGALUSA)---The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a Bogalusa man on a Jefferson Parish murder charge even as a special fraud unit was investigating the suspect on an allegation that he was involved in disability fraud.
Louisiana State Police Troop L spokesman Louis Calato says that 39-year-old Jerry Singletary of 12683 Mizell Loop Road was arrested on outstanding warrants charging Singletary with second degree murder by distribution of narcotics and distribution of Methadone.
Calato says that the Cooperative Disability Investigation Unit was investigating allegations of disability fraud against Singeltary when officers learned that he was wanted on the murder and drug charges in Jefferson Parish.
Upon learning of the warrants, Calato adds that detectives with the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office eventually located Singletary and took him into custody without incident.
