(ALBANY)---For the third time in slightly more than a year, an Albany man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged methamphetamine lab, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office. Also facing a similar charge is an Albany woman, who Sheriff's Office officials say has now been arrested on similar charges twice in a little more than a year.
Livingston Sheriff Willie Graves says that 33-year-old Jake Kirkland and 38-year-old Joan Parker have been charged with creation and operation of a clandestine methamphetamine lab. The sheriff also says that Kirkland has also been charged with resisting arrest.
Sheriff Graves says that members of his office and the Tri-Parish Task Force worked surveillance for nearly a week in the case. He adds that when deputies moved in, Kirkland allegedly dropped some chemicals on the ground and fled on foot. The sheriff says that Kirkland was captured moments after a foot pursuit.
