(SLIDELL)---Four more charges have been filed against the elementary school custodian in Slidell who earlier this year originally faced nine charges in a case where he allegedly raped some students at the school, according to the Slidell Police Department.
Late Friday, Slidell Police Chief Freddy Drennan announced that 41-year-old Dino Jay Schwertz of Slidell was additionally charged with two counts of aggravated rape and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Slidell Police Capt. Kevin Foltz told Eyewitness News that when first arrested back in March, Schwertz faced nine charges, six of which involved aggravated rape allegations.
Chief Drennan said that not only did detectives question potential new victims, but also did further interviews with known victims. Drennan said that the two additional counts of aggravated rape stemmed from questioning a previous victim, a 12-year-old boy. The chief added that the two new counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile came from information learned from two alleged new victims, an 8-year-old male and an 11-year-old female.
Chief Drennan noted that it takes time for victims to come forward with new information.
