(SLIDELL)---The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has scheduled some road work to be done along the I-10 in the Slidell highway rest area.

Construction is set, weather permitting, from Sunday night, March 29, through Thursday morning, April 2. It will be from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The work - grinding rumble strips near the rest area-- will mean a lane closure westbound and in the outside lane with 15 to 30 minute delays on the I-10.

The DOTD suggests that taking I-59 would be the best alternative route.
