(MADISONVILLE)---St. Tammany Parish government leaders say that there will be roadwork done along the Guste Island Road near Madisonville on Thursday, March 12. They say that damage from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike in 2008 will mean new culverts, surfacing, and bed improvements must be complete before new asphalt can be installed. Officials say they are working with the St. Tammany School Board to be certain that school bus disruption is kept to a minimal. They add that the majority of the work should be done by the time the final school bells ring. |
