(MANDEVILLE/COVINGTON)---The St. Tammany Parish Library is proud to present educator and author Betty Miley at a couple of presentations, featuring slides and comments surrounding gardening in Louisiana. On Monday evening, March 23, Miley presents "Gardening with Nature" at the Causeway Branch in Mandeville. It begins at 6 p.m. and is expected to last an hour. It features eco-friendly ways for gardeners and anyone interested in protecting the environment, pictures of real landscapes to illustrate ideas and practices, and some 80 slides. On Tuesday morning, Miley presents "Gardening for Birds" at the Covington Branch. It begins at 10:30 a.m. and will last 45 minutes or so. It provides info and support for learning about birds that live in or migrate through the area, creating home habitats to attract and protect birds, and some 50 slides. The seminars and free and open to the public with registration requested. Books and native Louisiana plants will also be available for purchase. For more info or to register, call 985.626.9779. |
