(MADISONVILLE)---Northshore residents will have the chance to learn more about artistic textiles and efforts to preserve the history of them on Saturday, March 21, at the Otis House Museum portion of Fairview-Riverside State Park. Fairview-Riverside is located one-mile east of Madisonville along La. 22. It's called Doillies & Dresser Scarves: Documentation Project and organizers are asking anyone with these vintage items to share them. The program will provide documentation with photographs, measurement, and stories of the needle workers to create a database for scholarly study. The Doillies & Dresser Scarves effort is free with park admission of $1. Seniors aged 62 and over and children 12 years of age and under are admitted free of charge. For more info, call 985.792.4652 or 1.888.677.3247 toll free. |
