ESPN has Hornets up to 7th .... but

Tom Planchet

Marc Stein says that with a healthy Tyson Chandler these look like the Hornets of old, but he does agree with my opinion that the Hornets will have trouble as Chris Paul and David West are carrying an inordinate amount of the offensive load.

Hornets need Iron Men as bench brings little

Tom Planchet

It seems to be clear now that the Hornets will go as far in the playoffs as their starters can take them, with the starters averaging well over 40 minutes each.

It's that simple. The Hornets have no bench. It's been written about over and over again, but simply put, the Hornets bench scares no one. The best Byron Scott can hope to do is to lose just a little ground while they are in. There is absolutely no one on the bench who any opponent ...

2:26 PM Mon, Mar 09, 2009 |
Tom Planchet

Yes, the Hornets are hot, but the Jazz and Rockets are just as hot, and that's made it harder for the Hornets to inch up the power ratings.

As of this writing, only one game separated spots three and seven in the Western Conference, so a hot or cold streak could do a lot of good.

FOX Sports: Why Jazz's Williams is better than CP3

9:10 PM Sun, Mar 08, 2009 |
Tom Planchet

Sacrilege of course, but FOX Sports' Charley Rosen makes his case for why Utah's Deron Williams is better than CP3.

I'm sure it's a tough call...and he has several good points, but the fact that Williams' dominance might outlast Paul's due to his size and durability, is not evidence that he is better now.

I like CP3 to Isiah Thomas (the player, not t...
