New Orleans went 2-1 this past week without its frontline of David West and Tyson Chandler and top backup center Hilton Armstrong. And still those who rate the league week in, week out thought the Hornets played poorly enough to fall back a few spots. Chris Paul's Game Winner versus Indiana Final When you're missing two starters and an important sub off the bench, it never is. But when you've got Chris Paul, your chances are better than average to pick up the win. Paul willed the Hornets to yet another win as New Orleans held off New Jersey 102-92 Wednesday night at the Arena. Paul had 29 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to pace the Hornets two nights ... Chris Paul just can't stay out of the limelight. The Hornets' point guard has once again been honored by the NBA, this time earning his sixth Western Conference Player of the Week honor of his career. The latest instance came for games played Jan. 12 through this past Sunday. Paul becomes the first Hornet to ever pick up the award six times and also is the first to win it three times in one season. New Orleans ... Well, this is a day late. We here at WWL-TV.com apologize for this egregious error. But that doesn't make any of these rankings any less valid, especially with a win Monday over Indiana. Of course, missing three players - including two starters - for at least the next game could hurt. Forward David West (back spasms), center Tyson Chandler (sprained left ankle) and reserve center Hilton Armstrong (soar left knee) are all quest...

New Orleans travels to face Cleveland tonight at 7 p.m. Up until Thursday night, that could have been a problem. The Cavs are 19-0 at home and have wins over some of the biggest names in the league at Quicken Loans Arena. But in the Cavs' Thursday night loss to Chicago, Cleveland lost its guard Delonte West to a broken wrist. LeBron James may ru...
The weekly dose of power ratings are out and the Hornets don't find themselves below No. 10 in any of the polls. Quite frankly, the way this club plays and how inconsistent it is, New Orleans is a No. 10 to No. 16 type team. Yes, they can beat the Lakers. And yes, they can bow out at home to the lowly Knicks. As Byron Scott said after Monday night's loss to New York, this team has got to learn its lesson at some point.<... OK. Final The Hornets fall to 22-12 while New York improves to 14-22. 3:45 4th Quarter Final Rasual Butler led the way with 27 points and Tyson Chandler added 13 points and 11 rebounds. James Posey added 16 points off the bench. The Hornets host the New York Knicks on Monday night. 2:42 4th Quarter Beat Portland. Beat the Lakers in Los Angeles. Good deal. Lose to Denver and get blown out at Utah. Not a great thing. And that leads to SI.com dropping the Hornets in its weekly power rankings. New Orleans fell from No. 5 to No. 9. But the Hornets are about to start a stretch where they can prove that they're actually one of the best teams in the league... Funny what a victory over the league's best team can do for your power ratings. The Hornets have been hovering between 12 and 8 for much of the season. After two bad losses to the Lakers at home earlier in the season, it was easy to understand why. But now that the Hornets won in Los Angeles last ni... Yearning for Hornets info? Well, here's a little to help you out. A week in review. New Orleans picked up two wins this past week, beating Washington 97-85 at home as Rasual Butler led the way with 21 points. That win preceded the Hornets' 92-77 win at Portland, where David West picked up 25 points to be the team's high-scorer. All wasn't rosy, however, as center Tyson Chandler was suspended for one game after... So, the holidays are over and you'd like to go to a Hornets game, but you can't because you A) need to pay off bills for presents and B) need an oil change. Well, the franchise can't help you with A but if B is what's holding you back, you're in luck. The Hornets have come up with a plan to help you out.
