Whatever the reason, New Orleans isn't playing the type of basketball we're accustomed to seeing. They'll get a chance Wednesday night at the New Orleans Arena to ge... The Hornets have lost four of their past six games after darting to a 3-0 start to the season. And ESPN has noticed, moving New Orleans down in this week's ranking. But in a way, that's a good thing. ESPN respects the Hornets and expects them to be better. We'll see here in the next month if this team has the chops to get back going again. ...(Final) But Kobe Bryant hit a 3 as the shot clock expired, putting a dagger in this game with 1:08 to play. Unbelievable 4th quarter by the Hornets. This says more about New Orleans, I believe, than the rest of the game. ---------------- Jason... Well, ESPN.com has put out power ranking for the NBA and lo and behold, despite a 4-2 record with at least one bad loss, the Hornets rate No. 6 Per ESPN: New Orleans lost for the first time this season, losing at home 87-79 to the Atlanta Hawks. Chris Paul finished with 22 points and 11 assists in the loss, while Joe Johnson had 24 points and 7 rebounds for the Hawks in the win. ------------ And the awards and recognition, they keep coming for Chris Paul. New Orleans' point guard extraordinaire was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the season's opening slate of games. It's the fourth time Paul has picked up the honor and it likely won't be the last this season. Paul becomes just the second Hornet to win the award four times. Larry Johnson is the other.
