NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have picked up the option for the 2010-11 season for forward Julian Wright.

Wright (6-8, 225) is in his third season with the Hornets after being drafted in the first round (13th overall pick) of the 2007 NBA Draft. Hornets tickets going on sale Friday

Individual tickets for all Hornets regular season home games go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m.

Fans can purchase tickets at Hornets.com, by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX, at the New Orleans Arena box office and at all TicketMaster outlets.

Hornets in Lafayette goes well

The Hornets are doing something different this year for training camp. They're spending the first week in Lafayette, La., as has been reported.

Practices are generally closed to the public. But on Saturday, Byron Scott is opening the scrimmage for fans.

There were 850 tickets to be handed out.

They all went in 30 minutes.

We all know the story of the Hornets from last season.

After a push into the upper echelon of the NBA in 2007-08, the Hornets fell back to Earth in 08-09.

The players wanted something different, a bonding experience.
