NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Hornets announced today that tickets for the two preseason games scheduled for the New Orleans Arena in October will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

Fans can purchase tickets online at Hornets.com, by calling 1-800-4NBATIX, at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the New Orleans Arena box office to see the Hornets play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. and as the Hornets take on the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.

"Our preseason games are a great opportunity for our fans across the state of Louisiana to show their excitement and support for our talented squad," said Hornets Executive Vice President of Basketball Chad Shinn. "With the regular season right around the corner, we have an exciting preseason line-up for our fans to see for the first time the championship-caliber team we have put together for the 2009-10 season."

The Oct. 17 game against the Pacers is "First Responders Night" where local heroes from fire, police and military will be honored and recognized throughout the night.

The regular season begins at home on Friday, Oct. 30 against the Sacramento Kings in the New Orleans Arena. A date to purchase individual tickets for the regular season will be announced later. Season tickets and partial plans can be purchased by visiting Hornets.com or calling (504) 525-HOOP.
