Live at the Hive: Spurs lead 43-42 at half...

Scott Cody gives me his thoughts right now about the first half.

"Like I said. Parker gets his first pionts in the paint in the final seconds. His five points are in the final seconds of the half. That's pretty successful. Byron Scott talked about limiting one of the big three, and I think that's been pretty successful.

You saw it at the 3:45 mark. Scott went small and tried to force David West to be matched up with Tim Duncan. It kind of backfired. It'll be interesting to see if they come out and try to force the issue like they did in the first game.

Big minutes for Ju-Ju."

As for my thoughts, well, i'm excited for Quick Change, the halftime show. It's been one of my favorites for years, and I'm still trying to figure out how they do it. They change about 10 times in like 8 minutes. It's awesome.

I think the Hornets are doing a good job of keeping the Spurs from doing what the Spurs do, which is get in an opponent's head. They need to limit San Antonio's inside game a little more. The Spurs have 18 of their 43 points in the paint. That's not bad. It could be better.

Now Chandler needs to come in and continue to give good minutes and stay out of further foul trouble. Chris Paul is doing a good job of taking the game to San Antonio; he needs to continue to go at the basket.

What are you thoughts? What do you think?

Bradley,
We're enjoying your commentary as we watch the game from home. Looks like Charles Barkley has jumped on the Hornets bandwagon with the rest of us. What's it going to take for others to follow suit?

Rebecca, thanks for reading. I wish more people would write in. To answer your question, I'm not sure. If the Hornets win here, and then take at least one in San Antonio, respect will come. The Hornets weren't on national TV a lot this year, and I think people are still expecting this run to end at some point. But if you've watched the Hornets for an extended period of time this year, you'll see that this team isn't slowing down and it won't give in at all. Win the series, win respect.
