CBS Sportsline: Hornets choked; Paul a flop

Wow! Gregg Doyel absolutely savages the Hornets in this rip piece. Come on now, the Hornets aren't exactly playing against chopped liver, I mean the Spurs had the same number of wins as the Hornets this year and are the defending champs.

Doyel correctly points out that the Hornets blew their cool and that Scott rolled the dice by playing Paul, Chandler and West for almost all of the first three quarters, but while most writers have been giving the Hornets a pass for being young and playoff inexperienced, Doyel seems to be expecting the Bulls of the early 90s.

The Hornets may yet lose Game 7, but with three and a half days off before the next tip, I hardly think they left it all on the court.

I guess Paul is arriving as a superstar when guys like this start taking pot shots. CBS Sportsline has never been Hornets friendly. I would like to see all these clowns go back into their holes.

Doyel doesn't understand the game as much as he pretends. I think the Hornets did have a minor meltdown in the 3rd period, but the Refs helped with that. The Refs didn't make consistent calls on both ends of the court. The bottom line is, this is the playoffs, and you probably won't win on a regular basis shooting low percentage jump shots the majority of the time.

THE HORNETS NEED TO TAKE THE BALL INTO THE PAINT...AND GET EASY BASKETS OR DRAW FOULS! THAT'S FUNDAMENTAL BASKETBALL.

IF THEY DON'T, THEY WILL STRUGGLE IN THE PLAYOFFS...EVEN IF THEY MAKE IT OUT OF THIS ROUND.
