Mavs - Hornets Gm. 4 3rd Quarter

Scott Cody in Dallas writes:

First three shots made by the Hornets to open the 3rd. West is being guarded by Eric Dampier who is not Brandon Bass. West is having his way in the paint to start the second half. Bass should be in shortly.

West has ten points in the third so far... there's 8:44 left. Bass is at the scorer's table. One thing about DWest, he might be the most determined player in the league. He has gotten better each year he's been in the league and is now getting better with each postseason quarter he plays.

The Dallas crowd is on the verge on turning on their own team. Peja just drilled a wide open three to make it 64-51... this was after a Josh Howard air ball that began the boos. Peja's three made them louder.

1st alley oop comes at 4:55 in the 3rd.

Mavs go on a little run to get within five at the 1:41 mark. Hornets offense has become a post up, bog down, one and done type of thing. No flow, alot of standing around.

Some dude just hit a half court shot during a timeout to win a 61 inch tv. Still not as impressive as a guy once at a hornets game hitting, consecutively mind you, a lay-up, free throw, three-pointer and half-court shot.

Another flop by Dirk. I like him, but it's ridiculous how much he ends up on the ground and even more ridiculous how many phantom calls he gets. NBA refs should beashamed at some fo the calls they give him.

End of the third 76-66 Bees... GREAT quarter. The starters played every minute. That might be a first all season. CP3 twisted his ankle pretty good at the end of the quarter. We'll keep on eye on that.
