The reserves in Game 3, cam in and gave the Hornets the lead in the second quarter. Peja and West are the only starters on teh floor for Byron Scott to start the 2nd. Bass is taking care of West. He's forcing bad shots and even blocked one. Foul trouble with the Bees bigs is really concerning. Hilton just got his third. Tyson is back in. Byron activated Melvin Ely for this game, it appears his six fouls will be needed. The hornets quickly went on a 9-0 run thanks to Jannero Pargo. It appears his 30 in game 3 wasn't a fluke. Five points in 4 minutes of play, very efficient. By the way, out of a timeout, Dallas scores an easy layup. Chris Paul has not seen the floor in the second quarter. 5:58 left, still no CP3. The hornets have the lead without him, I was telling a colleague... you ride em till they buck you or you don't ride at all. That's a line from Tin Cup, by the way. 4:34, CP3 enters. Steals ball, gets lay up. Peja just air balled one... the ref then called a late foul on Josh Howard. I think the ref told himself, "there's no way Peja air balls. He must have got fouled." Because I didn't see a foul. Maybe Byron's home cooking comments are paying off. Although the foul descrepency is still there. 2:39 left, 8 fouls on NO... 4 on DAL Brandon Bass is abusing the Hornets in the paint. 8 reounds, 12 points... almost all of them on dunks. 48-44 Hornets, however at the half. The Reserves gave them the lead, and they held onto it depsite getting killed on the glass 30-to-19. |
