The Hornets continue to build positive energy, and as such, the NBA announced Thursday the franchise will play two preseason games in Barcelona, Spain and Berlin, Germany in October.

On Oct. 14, the Hornets will play the Wizards in Berlin, and three days later, will play Washington again, this time in Barcelona.

“We are honored to be taking part in NBA Europe Live,” Hornets Owner George Shinn in a statement. “To be able to showcase our players and team in two of the world’s greatest cities, Barcelona and Berlin, is something extremely special and we very much look forward to it.”

Miami and New Jersey also will take part in preseason games abroad, playing in Paris and London.

This is the second time in the franchise’s history it has played in Europe, the previous trip coming prior to the 1994-95 season.
