Last night's sellout saw something special - the Hornets, after scoring 16 points in the first quarter, held Houston to 69. That included giving up only 25 second-half points, tying a franchise record for fewest points given up in a second half. It also was the eighth sellout of the season, and seventh in the past 12. Adding 17,956 fans to the coffers, the average is now 14,219, not too far short of the 14,735 the team is supposed to average beginning this past Dec. 1. Then again, we still have next season to go before the numbers are final. Then again, the contract could be restructured before we know it. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

I am wondering why ESPN web site showing NBA attendance standings has the Hornets at 37 games an average of 13,800? You have it over 14,200. Which is correct?
--PMAC, the overall season attendance is 13,800. But the contract the Hornets signed in January has the attendance figures beginning Dec. 1. The 14,200 is home games from Dec. 1 until now.
