Hornets Home Attendance Tracking: Tuesday, Feb. 26

All right folks. After missing out on this for a little while, our attendance tracking is back. Well, rather, I'm on top of it now.

There are some interesting trends, that's for sure.

And while some may be jumping off the bandwagon after this small 3-game slide, it appears the attendance is heading in the right direction.

Remember, the deal made says the Hornets must average 14,735 through the end of next season or the franchise can move.

OK, here we go. A sellout = 17,188 tickets sold. Since Dec. 1, the Arena has sold out three times (17,623 fans for Cleveland on Dec. 29; 17,231 for Memphis on Feb. 9; and 17,714 for Houston on Friday).

Weekend attendance is better than weekday attendance (duh), and as the season has progressed, so have ticket sales.

Right now, after 21 games, the Hornets are averaging 13,368 with a total attendance of 280,722.

The Hornets averaged 12,215 for eight games in December; 13,425 for nine games in January; and are at 15,544 for four games in February thus far.

New Orleans Arena is getting an average of 13,961 for 11 weekend games (those played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday) and 12,715 for 10 games played during the week (those played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).

High = 17,714 against Houston (Fri., Feb. 22 in a 100-80 loss)
Low = 9,882 against Seattle (Wed., Jan. 16 in a 123-92 win)

No fewer than 11,006 have seen a game since that Jan. 16 game against Seattle.

The Hornets are 15-6 at home since Dec. 1, including a seven-game win streak.

What's the deal with parking? For some reason it takes longer to park for a Hornets game than a Saints game. There seems to be a problem with the process overall. Everytime that I've gone to a Hornets game, I'm late for tip off. Louie
