The San Jose Mercury News is the latest to pile on the Hornets' lackluster attendance. Now, I too think the attendance has been poor considering performance, but take away a bunch of parades in the metro area last night and I think they sell out. Yes, major markets can handle more than one big thing at a time, but New Orleans is not a major (large population) market. They are a mid-sized to small market and a major event like Carnival parades can take away needed customers. Some people attended the parades, others were probably scared away by possible traffic congestion. |
