Hornets new deal leaves opening for OKC, KC

Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman says that the Hornets new lease gives hope to Oklahoma City and Kansas City in their quests for NBA franchises. He says he doesn't think there is much of a chance that the Hornets will hit their attendance mark, leaving them free to move - albeit, at a price.

I saw this coming from the beginning. Its ALL about the money.

Are we really going to worry about what someone in OKC has to say about this? I mean, it's not like they are a disinterested party. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter what OKC or KC do, or any other city for that matter, what matters for us is what we do. What we need to do is support our NBA team. If we do that, I am confident that the end result of this will be to lock the Saints down long-term and removal of the benchmarks down the road once we have shown support for the Hornets and Benson is satisfied.

Let us not forget that despite the OKC problems over the last two years, this team is 25-12 in the powerful Western Conference. Our nucleus of Chris Paul, David West, and Tyson Chandler is just stout. They are exciting, fun, good, and are good guys. Any of you who may remember Pistol Pete won't be disappointed by Paul, even though the Pistol can never be replaced. Paul is that good.

Get out there and let's support our team. Forget about the naysayers, they want us to fail.

Patrick, weren't the Jazz supported back in the '70's? I seem to remember that team had the "Pistol." Talk about support. They had it and where did they end up? Utah! Its all about Shinn getting the best deal for himself. TV market here can't support an NBA franchise. Katrina killed this team. NO chance they stay.
