New Orleans - Gov. Bobby Jindal has gone on the record in regard to speculation he might run for U.S. Senate.
Jindal said his top priority is to have a strong delegation representing Louisiana in Washington, D.C., and for those lawmakers to be able to erase party lines and work together with the state's best interest in mind.
And Friday, he did tell say exactly where his political aspirations lie.
"Well a couple of things, first (Sen. David) Vitter's going to have to make his case with the voters, just like every candidate does. There's been a lot of speculation. Let me answer your question very directly, I'm not running for the senate, I'm running for re-election as governor in 2011, but David's going have to make his case with the voters directly just like any other candidate's going to have to do that."
Jindal said he hopes the delegation will continue to fight for Louisiana's fair share of oil and gas royalties and to find solutions to the projected Medicaid shortfalls.
