A weak cold front will slip by to our north and there will be a slight chance for a few stray showers over Virginia's Eastern Shore. Hampton Roads should be partly to mostly sunny with more sunshine south into North Carolina. ...A strong cold front passed through last night triggering a line of strong storms. That front also ushered in much cooler air. Despite lots of sunshine, highs today will stay close to normal with highs in the lower to mid 70s. Temperatures won't be warming anytime soon. Temperatures are on the way up today. Highs will climb into the mid 80s thanks to southwest winds blowing 15 to 20 mph. These winds will pick up ahead of a cold front that will slip through tonight. Before the front comes through, a few isolated showers may develop. The atmosphere is pretty dry, so the chances are not great, but we could see a stray storm develop as well. ...After a little wet weather over the weekend, sunny skies are set to return to Hampton Roads. ...Grab that umbrella if you are heading out the door early Sunday because a complex area of low pressure and fronts will move through Hampton Roads, making for a wet start to the day. ...A cold front sliding through the area this morning will bring with it morning showers and breezy and cooler conditions this afternoon. ...Another unseasonably warm day today across Hampton Roads as highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. ...A rather warm and humid day on tap today as southerly winds will bring in a tropical airmass. ...Right now we are 8.10" above normal rainfall at Norfolk International Airport for 2009. An umbrella and raincoat will be part of the back-to-school wardrobe Tuesday as an area of low pressure will slowly move up the coast and bring more clouds and rain to Hampton Roads. ..."Mild and damp" are not words most of us like to associate with Labor Day in Hampton Roads. Like it or not, those are the conditions we will deal with today. Scattered showers will overtake the region as the day wears on.
