Thinking About the Beaches?

7:44 AM Fri, May 01, 2009 |

If you are like me, you love to hit the sand and play in the surf. It is one of my favorite things about living in Hampton Roads. Last weekend's heat wave made it easy to get down and enjoy the water. This weekend will not be as hot, but still warm enough to leave many of us thinking about "going coastal!"

Today's UV index is a 6. That is moderate to high on the scale. The surf should be in the 1 to 3' range. Beach temps should be close to 80 as the southwest winds blow at 15-20 mph. There is a chance for an isolated shower and possibly even a stray storm. Otherwise the skies will be variably to mostly cloudy.

Isolated to scattered showers are possible this weekend as well. Look for the temperatures to continue above normal Saturday and Sunday.

Have a great weekend!
